Commercial permits are required for all structures constructed under the Ohio Building Code [business, mercantile, apartments (4-family +)], assembly,
prisons, schools, storage, industrialized and/or HUD units, hospitals, hotels/motels, churches, theaters, bridges, restaurants, grandstands, change of
use, demolition, etc.
To apply for a building permit, you need the following:
- Three (3) sets of drawings, including any changes with an architect's/engineer's seal, showing cross-sections
- Floor plans
- Elevations
- Handicap information
- Energy calculations
- Site plan of the proposed structure
- Septic approval, if applicable
- Plumbing Permit
- Zoning Application
- Plot plan
- Water/sewer release
- House number verification
- Sidwell number
- Completed application forms
- Additional Permit Information
Building & Electrical Application
If the project is a public swimming pool, the Warren County Building Department requires 3 sets of drawings, a Zoning permit and a plot plan. You will
also need to contact the State Board of Health (phone: 614-644-6815, Diane Roller)approval is also needed.
