Gary D Fanti II

A579239

In 1991, the Defendant was a prisoner at the Warren Correctional Institution. He managed to defraud GTE North of over $1000.00 worth of telephone services. He was ultimately convicted of two counts of Felony Theft in the third degree with a specification of a prior offense of violence. He was sentenced to an indefinite term of two to ten years, to be served consecutively to the prison terms he was serving from Stark County and Tuscarawas County. The Defendant has what he has described as “a very colorful criminal history” even before he became an adult. As a juvenile he was convicted of Robbery. While being held in the Stark County Juvenile Center, he escaped and broke into a nearby residence, which resulted in additional convictions for Escape and Aggravated Burglary. Given Inmate Fanti’s history of violence, as well as escapes, we believe that he is a violent career offender whose release will subject the general public to the risk of future criminal activity. Therefore, we are opposed to his release on parole.
