Major Steve Arrasmith, Commander

Major Steve Arrasmith became the Commander of the Warren County Drug Task Force in 2015. Major Arrasmith began his career in law enforcement in 1991 as a Cadet with the Warren County Sheriff’s Office. He became a full time Deputy Sheriff in 1992 and began a brief assignment in the Corrections Division. He was reassigned to the Enforcement Division where he served as a Field Training Officer and an Evidence Technician. In 1997, Major Arrasmith was assigned to the Criminal Investigation Section (CIS) as a Detective. During this time, he investigated all types of criminal activity and began working with the Warren County Drug Task Force, specializing in drug trafficking cases and drug related crimes.

In 1997, Major Arrasmith was assigned to the Criminal Investigation Section (CIS) as a Detective. During this time, he investigated all types of criminal activity and began working with the Warren County Drug Task Force, specializing in drug trafficking cases and drug related crimes.

Major Arrasmith was promoted to Detective Sergeant in 1999 and began a full time assignment with the Warren County Drug Task Force in 2000. He was promoted to the rank of Detective Lieutenant in 2004 and continued his assignment with the task force as the Field Commander. In 2010, Major Arrasmith was honored as the Warren County Sheriff’s Office, Deputy Sheriff of the Year.

He is a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps, a graduate of the FBI National Academy, DEA Drug Unit Commanders Academy and the Police Executive Leadership College. He has received extensive specialized training in the field of criminal investigations through the Office of Criminal Justice, the Narcotics Association of Regional Coordinating Officers (NARCO), the Ohio Peace Officers Training Academy and the International Association of Undercover Officers.

In November of 2015, he was promoted to the rank of Major and currently serves as Commander of the Warren County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division. This division includes the Criminal Investigation Section (CIS) of the Sheriff’s Office as well as the Warren County Drug Task Force.
