The following information is listed to help those who are interested in how to apply for a new Marriage License in Warren County or how to obtain a certified copy of an existing license. This information is also recorded on the Marriage License line at 513-695-1771.

First are rules about applying for a new license. The applicants must apply together. The fee for the license is $48.00 (cash only). Each person must show one government issued photo I.D. and one of the parties must reside in Warren County and be able to provide proof of residency. Applicants must demonstrate an understanding of oath as a prerequisite for the issuance of a marriage license.

Items that will be accepted are:

  • Driver's license
  • State I.D.
  • Passport or visa

There is currently no requirement for a blood test or waiting period. The license is issued immediately but is valid for only 60 days.

If an applicant has been divorced, the most recent signed and time-stamped copy of the divorce decree must be presented at the time of application. A death certificate is not required if the applicant is a widow or widower. If you are an Ohio resident then you must, by law, apply for a license in the county in which you reside if you intend to be married in this state. If you are not an Ohio resident and wish to be married in this state, you must apply in the same county in which you marry.

If either party to the marriage license is 17 years of age or younger then please call 695-1183 to learn the proper application procedure.

To obtain a marriage license you must come to the Warren County Probate Court in the Probate-Juvenile Courts Building located at 900 Memorial Drive, Lebanon, Ohio 45036. The Court is open for marriage applications 8:00AM to 4:00PM, please be here by 3:45PM to begin the process. No appointment necessary. The Court is closed weekends and holidays. The parties must be married by a minister or magistrate, such as a mayor, county or municipal court judge.

If you wish to obtain a certified copy of an existing marriage license, you can apply in person and receive the certified copy while you wait. To apply by mail, provide the date of the marriage and parties' full legal names at the time of the application. Include a self addressed stamped envelope and a money order or a cashier's check for $2.00 per copy desired. Mail your request to:
